Privacy Browser Android - Bug #1171 (New): background open doesn't work after used once per tabhttps://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/11712024-02-21T14:22:05Zask lowPrivacy Browser Android - Bug #1106 (In Progress): New intents sometimes aren't loaded on restart...https://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/11062023-10-18T20:53:45ZSoren Stoutnersoren@stoutner.com

When I tap on a MHT file (with
.mht
extension), which I previously saved with Privacy Browser, in Android's default "Files" app (also called "DocumentsUI",
com.android.documentsui
), it doesn't give me the possibility to open the file with Privacy Browser.

I saw in the app's configuration that it should work with
.mht
extensions, but don't know why it doesn't, and if this is specific to my device for this app.

I installed jQuarks viewer to test on it, and it works.
Privacy Browser Android - Bug #1068 (New): Closing first tab visually truncates the new first tabhttps://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/10682023-08-17T00:01:53Zv ...

Open 4 or 5 tabs ;

Select the first tab ;

Close it through the X button on its left ;

The focus goes to the previously second tab, which becomes now the new first tab ;

Notice that only half of the tab is visible now (the bug).

When the focus is on a tab other than the first one, then closing it moves the focus to another tab which is entirely displayed on the view.
The bug only applies when closing the first tab.

See the two attached screenshots.
Privacy Browser Android - Bug #1067 (In Progress): App bar URL doesn't refresh on broken internet...https://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/10672023-08-16T23:19:44Zv ...

Go to a web page ;

Turn off your internet connection ;

Click on a link in the web page previously loaded ;

Because there is no internet connection, the WebView is showing us that the link we clicked on is not available (normal) ;

However, the URL bar continues to display the previous URL (the bug) ;

Turn on your internet connection ;

Tap to the refresh button ;

The URL used to refresh the page is the last one, which previously has not been resolved, and not the displayed one. So, it only seems to be a bug relative to the view.

I suppose the refresh of the URL bar is done after the URL is resolved. Therefore, to fix that, the refresh has to be done before the possibly resolution of the domain name.

Proxy - i2p, Tor

Tor - If a web address is w/o prefix 'http:// or https://' PB redirects automatically to 'https://'.
It should remain 'http://'.

i2p -
1. Using i2pd with 'I2p proxy', PB shows the alert that there is no i2p app. i2pd is the i2p client which fully implements all I2P APIs.
https://geti2p.net/en/about/alternative-clients

I recommend that i2pd should be recognised by PB as i2p app.

2. Using 'I2p proxy' or 'custom proxy' as advised here https://www.stoutner.com/proxy-syntax/, if you use a web address w/o prefix 'http:// or https://' PB tries to connect with a search engine via i2p outproxy. PB should try to connect with the provided address using default prefix 'http://'
Privacy Browser Android - Bug #909 (New): Block ads in YouTube videoshttps://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/9092022-10-09T07:19:22ZThomas Jensen

Privacy Browser doesn't block ads in youtube videos. Opera Browser for android does, and firefox (with adblockers) on my pc does. Is it possible to make Privacy Browser also block these ads?
Privacy Browser Android - Bug #814 (In Progress): The Waiting for Orbot message is not being dism...https://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/8142022-03-06T04:20:24ZAir Yes

When toggling thw proxy setting to TOR in PB notification "waiting for Orbot to connect" appears and can be removed by clicking anywhere else on the screen, but pops up again if you leave-return to PB. Orbot is running. And PB is being routed through TOR, I can tell by WebRTC leak being fixed.

Also interesting observation. WebRTC leak still happens when rules in Netguard are not applied to PB and/or allowed for current devices connection.

So to fix the WebRTC leak PB has to have TOR toggled on, and be blocked in Netguard.
Privacy Browser Android - Bug #632 (New): Bookmark menu size in portrait and landscapehttps://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/6322020-10-14T17:12:14ZThomas Jensen

I don't know if this is a bug or normal behaviour.

If I start PB from portrait mode, the bookmarks take up quite a lot of space. If I now shift to landscape mode, it still use most of the screen. If I start PB from landscape mode, it use normal space, and shifting to portrait mode is also okay.
Privacy Browser Android - Bug #563 (New): Double-tap (to toggle full screen browsing mode) also "...https://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/5632020-04-30T13:28:27ZJaime T

Hi. I'm trying out "Full screen browsing mode" but if I do the double-click over what happens to be a link, then both the full screen browsing mode toggles and the link is followed.

Is it possible for the double-click to not register as a single-click as well?

Many thanks for the fantastic browser, btw - it's much appreciated.

1. Set Privacy Browser to use WebView Default as the user agent.
2. Create a domain setting for github.com that uses `PrivacyBrowser/1.0` as the user agent.

When loading GitHub via normal means the desktop version is presented based on detection of the user agent. However, when loading GitHub via a URL shortener, like tinyurl.com/y99jqpfo, the domain settings are applied, but it appears they take effect after the user agent has already been sent to the server. So the mobile version is loaded.
Privacy Browser Android - Bug #294 (New): The HTTP authentication dialog displays several times f...https://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/2942018-05-31T00:01:58ZSoren Stoutnersoren@stoutner.com

For example, if JavaScript is enabled in domain settings for DuckDuckGo, but not for the next site, a bunch of code is displayed when JavaScript is disabled before the new site loads.

Also, when leaving a Wordpress site, like stoutner.com, if JavaScript is disabled, it reloads the site instead of going to the new URL.
