Redmine Privacy Browser PC - Feature #1184 (New): Add proxy supporthttps://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/11842024-03-26T00:07:25ZSoren Stoutnersoren@stoutner.com

There is some documentation for this at:

https://wiki.qt.io/QtWebEngine/Network
Privacy Browser Android - Feature #1182 (New): Look into removing all of the bitmap drawableshttps://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/11822024-03-19T20:59:01ZSoren Stoutnersoren@stoutner.com

Most of them are vectored images, but a few bitmaps remain.

It might now be possible to use vectors natively in some cases, and in others they can be converted at runtime with something similar to:

AppCompatResources.getDrawable(requireContext(), R.drawable.folder)!!.toBitmap(64, 64, Bitmap.Config.ARGB_8888)
Privacy Cell - Feature #1177 (New): Detecting Silent SMS Attackshttps://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/11772024-03-02T20:58:24ZMark Weston

Both the Android IMSI-Catcher Detector and SnoopSnitch projects have been abandoned:
https://github.com/CellularPrivacy/Android-IMSI-Catcher-Detector
https://github.com/srlabs/snoopsnitch

As it stands, there are no Android apps to detect when your device has fallen victim to an IMSI Catcher / Stingray. Since this project is well developed and active, I am proposing incorporating some of the features from AIMISCD into this project. Would it be feasible to start with detecting silent SMS which is not as big of an undertaking as detecting an IMSI catcher?

Hey, I've been really liking your browser so far with all the privacy features. And I think it'll be more privacy friendly if we can store/save multiple custom user agents (You can name using a custom name or using custom user agent 1,2,3..) and change them on the go.

I usually change my user agent between different sites to better obfuscate my identity. But it's hassle to copy and paste everytime, So if it'll be helpful to users like me who changes the user agents often if the browser could store them.
Privacy Browser Android - Feature #1169 (New): Color the status bar on proxy changehttps://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/11692024-02-16T16:56:56Zask lowPrivacy Browser Android - Feature #1164 (New): Add all the Sec-* header nonsense to View Headershttps://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/11642024-02-07T02:30:36ZSoren Stoutnersoren@stoutner.com

To achieve this browsing hygiene, currently we need to limit the amount of tabs opened, as well as the favicon history in each tab by accessing History in the sidebar. This feature request tries to enhance the latter.
Privacy Browser Android - Feature #1129 (New): Implement Translate APIhttps://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/11292023-11-28T01:58:17Zask low

Why I need¶

My friends & some of my family liked Privacy Browser, but they're expecting automatic webpage translate in native language script like how google does in chrome.

Possible Solution¶

There's LibreTranslate API
https://libretranslate.com/
Already used by minbrowser on linux.
Privacy Browser PC - Feature #1078 (New): Add context menus to the bookmarks menuhttps://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/10782023-09-07T18:56:45ZSoren Stoutnersoren@stoutner.com

Currently the context menus only work on the bookmarks toolbar.

Konqueror has them working on both (except that they killed the context menu on items in the bookmark menu that aren't bookmarks).

Using
setContextMenuPolicy(Qt::CustomContextMenu)
doesn't work because it is overwritten by
void KMenuMenuHandler::showContextMenu(QMenu *menu, const QPoint &pos)
in
kmenumenuhandler_p.cpp
.

https://github.com/KDE/kxmlgui/blob/master/src/kmenumenuhandler_p.cpp

Konqueror may be able to work around this because they don't base their system directly on
KXmlGuiWindow
, but rather `KParts::MainWindow` and `KonqFrameContainerBase`.

They do this with
QMenu *KonqBookmarkMenu::contextMenu(QAction *action)
in
kbookmarkmenu.cpp
, which overrides the protected function in
KBookmarkMenu
.

(finally able to activate my account)

I would see as a good feature to have URL manipulation done automatic by the browser, based on domain rules.
Case in point, Invidious

It could turn this: https://invidio.us/watch?v=Yw6u6YkTgQ4
into this: https://invidio.us/watch?v=Yw6u6YkTgQ4&listen=1&autoplay=1

which would make it possible to, without using cookies or javascript, always have invidious play only the sound and start playing on its own. Other options are available this is only an example. I also think other websites might have some tweaks that would be interesting to use this feature.
Also, I see it as a fitting feature for the 3.x version, since the browser already does URL manipulation (to remove facebook tracking and such). Meaning it would hardly require Privacy View. Please correct me if wrong.

Thanks.
