Not an issue because I never use the button. Always swipe from the left. You can close this if you don't feel like changing anything.

You don't want to reduce the padding any more than this for usability reasons. Buttons need to be sufficiently away from other items, including the URL TextEdit and the left edge of the screen so that human fingers can tap them without hitting the wrong thing.
