Description

Took a while for the confirmation email to arrive

Worth putting up a notice of "takes about x minutes" at least. :)

Most email servers will receive the registration email immediately. However, some are fairly slow. Usually this is because they are known spammers listed in SpamList.

https://www.smallbusinesstech.net/pfblocker-lists/

For example, Google sends out a lot of spam, so Gmail has dozens of IP addresses listed in SpamList. If that is the case, and the registration server is given one of those IP addresses when it does a DNS lookup, then it will take a while for the delivery attempt to timeout and another DNS request to be made. Depending on how many blocked IP addresses are given out by DNS before an unblocked one is encountered, it can take a long time for the registration email to be delivered.

Then why no notice? :)

Where would you suggest I put a notice? I do not know of any easy way to edit the text on Redmine's registration screen.

I think ideally when/after after registration email is sent. Before if not possible

Searching "redmine change login screen" brings me to https://www.redmine.org/boards/1/topics/40696 which suggests https://www.redmine.org/plugins/redmine_banner

Thanks for the info. As a matter of security policy, I do not install Redmine plugins unless they are packaged for Debian.
