Thank you for creating this bug report. I have been hearing rumors that the app was crashing on some devices, but so far I have been unable to replicate the problem locally and, without a bug report where someone can test potential fixes, it has been difficult to get to the root of the problem.
Can you please answer the following questions.
1. What version of Android are you running?
2. Do you have two SIM cards installed?
3. Are you running a custom ROM?

Dmitrij, are you able to test a potential fix? I think I might have found the problem, but I would like to be sure before releasing.

Android 16
ColorOS 16.0.3 (official ROM for my device)
2 SIM cards installed.
Yes, I am willing to test.

Does one of your SIM cards have a voice-only or a data-only plan? The fix I am working on is based on the assumption that this is the underlying cause.

No, both SIM cards are voice and data.

Also, if I disable any of my SIM cards, the app appears to work ok.

That is interesting information. Looking at the code, I can't imagine any reason why having dual SIM cards should cause a problem.
Try this test version and see let me know if it works for you. It is using a debug signature, so you will need to uninstall your existing copy of Privacy Cell to install this one. The link will expire after a few days.

If this does work, I would be curious to know if anything is displayed for the cell phone network name and phone number under the voice and data network (see screenshot). You don't need to post a picture or give me specifics, just let me know if the number and name match the active SIM card.

This build works for me. As it happens, I don't have a default voice SIM - the setting is "Always ask" for me. When I selected the default SIM, the current F-Droid version actually worked as well.
P.S.: my currently default data SIM does not report its phone number, so the lack of the phone number in the screenshot is expected.
