It should be possible to convert the bookmarks activity to load a fragment and include the same fragment in the drawer.
I am inclined to keep access to the bookmarks through the navigation menu because it is difficult to swipe from the edge on some phones when they are in a case. However, I am open to comments from users on the best way to handle this.
