Description

I tried forcing the Desktop-version of the Website "https://www.ing.de/" by switching through all User-Agents available. I even tried a User-Agent from Kiwi-Browser with which "https://www.ing.de/" is shown in Desktop-View, did not work.

Background: when using the mobile site of the ING-DiBa, you cannot use mobile TAN. That ist really annoying, because the SMS ist sent to a different "dumbphone" and (of course) not to the same smartphone opening the website.

I guess, the ING-DiBa detects the mobile device by other information than the User-Agent. Maybe there is a was to integrate a Desktop-Mode in Privacy Browser.

You are correct that web servers don't have to use user agents to decide if they want to send the desktop or the laptop version. In this case, based on my testing with a tablet, it looks like they are doing so based on the width of the screen. Currently, there is no way to spoof the screen width, but it will be possible in the 4.x series.

There is already an open feature request for that at https://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/233, so I am going to close this and track the development of this feature from there.
