Both DuckDuckGo and StartPage like to track you. It doesn't surprise me that they run slowly when all their tracking is blocked. As a bit of background:

2-isnt there a way that when you have a new tab and type it does a search? very frustrating to have to load a search page then search. not efficient.

Just type the search text into the URL bar and a search will be performed with your default search engine. There is no need to load a search page first?

3-many sites give me issues. im thinking being to harsh with settings doesnt help. what are the better less problematic user agents to use on my phone? I dont browse much on my phone and thus use PB

The user agent can be important, but it usually isn't the most important thing when it comes to webpage functions. I would recommend you read the Guide inside the app, particularly the JavaScript, Local Storage, and Requests sections.

4-im using libre wolf on mint but PB doesnt even open up when I launch it. it shows it as installed but when I click the icon on the bottom left, nothing happens

Is this regarding Privacy Browser Android or Privacy Browser PC?
