There are some intermittent issues with image searches, and the results don't seem to be very robust. However, it would be nice to have another option to StartPage given some concerns about their new ownership. https://blog.privacytools.io/delisting-startpage/

https://redmine.stoutner.com/issues/660 has some additional information. My limited testing indicates that reliability concerns have been addressed. I am going to use it for a while, and if everything look good, add it for the next release.
